Duravit now available from UK Bathrooms

We are excited to announce our partnership with leading luxury brand Duravit. Duravit is a world-renowned name in the world of bathroom design, and we are thrilled to be able to offer their products to our customers. In this blog post, we’ll tell you a little bit about the company and their products, as well as some of the technology that goes into making Duravit one of the best bathroom brands in the world.

About Duravit

Duravit has been making high-quality bathroom fixtures and furniture for over 200 years. The company was founded in 1817 by Georg Friedrich Horn, and today it is one of the most respected names in luxury bathroom design. Duravit has collaborated with some of the world’s leading designers, such as Philippe Starck, to create modern and stylish bathrooms that are both functional and beautiful.

Duravit’s commitment to innovation

One of the things that sets Duravit apart from other bathroom brands is their commitment to innovation. They are constantly striving to improve their products and make them more efficient and user-friendly. For example, their Rimless toilets use an innovative flushing system that eliminates standing water in the bowl, making them more hygienic and easier to clean.

DuraCeram

Duravit also has a unique firing process for their ceramic products that makes them more durable and resistant to chipping and scratching. This process, called DuraCeram, results in a harder, more scratch-resistant surface that is still smooth to the touch.

DuraLab

In addition to their commitment to quality and innovation, Duravit also has a strong focus on sustainability. Their DuraLab facility tests all of their products for durability and water efficiency before they are released on the market. And their HygieneGlaze coating protects against bacteria build-up on surfaces like toilets, basins and bidets.

If you’re looking for high-quality, stylish, and sustainable bathroom fixtures, then look no further than Duravit. Their commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability makes them one of the best bathroom brands in the world. And now you can find all your favourite Duravit products right here at UK Bathrooms!

Price Watch

Introducing UK Bathrooms Price Watch

In the current economic climate, prices are rising from month to month. Due to manufacturer’s costs increasing constantly, manufacturers are having to increase retail prices and pass some of the cost onto consumers. In some cases, this is often far higher than inflation. Here at UK Bathrooms, we are constantly watching prices and aim to offer some of the best pricing available in the UK.

There is nothing worse than planning your new dream bathroom, adding everything to your basket and then when you are ready to purchase finding that some of the items you were hoping for now have increased in price by sometimes 20%. If budgets are tight it might mean that you cannot get exactly the bathroom you dreamed of.

UKB Price Watch has been set up to keep our customers informed of any planned changes to prices. As soon as we know, our customers will know.

Over the next few months, some brands have announced price increases between 2.5% and 20%. We’ve already added this information to our website, we’ll add others as and when we are notified.

If you have the space and you are planning a new bathroom in the next few months it may be worth purchasing now before any more price increases and storing goods until you are ready.

Our team will continuously chase manufacturers to get the latest in terms of planned price increases so we can let our customers know as quickly as possible.

Best lead times in the bathroom industry

Our lead times are the best in the industry! Being honest about product availability is key….

Challenges past and new

The last 12 months have been challenging for everyone and the team here at UK Bathrooms have faced each new challenge with one aim. To ensure we offer the best possible service we can to our customers.

We’ve dealt with many issues from driver shortages, lack of skilled installers and an industry wide stock shortage. Impacted by the global health crisis and Brexit we are facing yet further slowdowns in our supply chain from some of our brands.  This is a challenge for the entire industry and may be long-term, we certainly don’t believe there is a quick fix.

We are ‘approved retailers’ for the brands that we sell on our website, as such our lead times are the best in the industry. We’re confident that we can supply customers quicker, or as quick as any other retailer. But we do get somewhat ‘frustrated’ at retailers who are still taking sales from customers for products that simply are not available for their stated delivery time.  We believe this is wholly unfair and we’re flagging up all those responsible to the brands involved – asking them to step in and protect the consumer and their brand.

Integrated stock feeds

We have integrated our stock feeds into our website from our suppliers so that we can give you the most accurate delivery times possible.  We do not think it is fair to our customers to sell these products with a false lead time, unlike other online suppliers who continue to do so.

So basically what does this mean for you?

What you see on our site as far as delivery lead times is as accurate as it can be – provided by live feeds from suppliers.  If a product is shown as ‘Out of Stock’ – then that means it is not available, and we’ll do our best to recommend an alternative for you.

We know how much time it takes for you to choose your new bathroom and how important it is to create your dream space.  We know you will be disappointed if you can’t get the basin or tap that you’ve set your heart on – however we have the largest selection of luxury bathroom brands and literally thousands of products, so we’re pretty sure we can offer you a great alternative – if you’re struggling and need advice email our sales team – [email protected] their product knowledge is vast and they’ll be able to help.

Quick Delivery Products Now Available

Our brand new UK Bathrooms Express range of products

are now available for quick delivery!

We’ve had an exciting few weeks at UK Bathrooms with:

  • lots of new products from our brands
  • getting ready to move into our new warehouse
  • new promotions from key manufacturers that we can share with our customers
  • more new members to our UK Bathrooms team
  • the launch of our brand new UK Bathrooms Express range

We’re constantly updating our website with the latest products and offers making sure that our customers have access to the best bathroom products at the best prices but most importantly that we deliver the best service that we can.

The last 12 months have been a testing time for all of us – but for UK Bathrooms our resources were stretched to their limits as more and more people have turned to e-Commerce providers such as ourselves.   One of our main problems being stock feeds from our brands which in the majority, are live feeds. More stress on our supply chain with Covid and since the beginning of the year, Brexit, has meant that we have adjusted our lead times and we were aware this was not always acceptable for those customers who urgently needed to receive their new bathroom products.

Our new warehouse facility means that we can take on more actual stock, in turn this means that we have launched our brand new UK Bathrooms Express range – where we can make delivery in 1 – 2 days.  As products on our site become immediately available they are automatically moved to our UK Bathrooms Express Quick Delivery page and show 1 – 2 days delivery.

UK Bathrooms Express products include taps, showers, basins, baths, toilets, mirrors, accessories etc and from our well known brands such as hansgrohe, Grohe, Villeroy & Boch, Burlington, Crosswater, VitrA, Aqualisa, Geberit, Ideal Standard, Abacus, AXOR, Laufen, Imperial and many more.Bayswater 1200 Curved Door Basin Cabinet

If there is something a customer wants that is not available our team will continue to work to source an alternative that we can supply faster.

UK Bathrooms Design Awards Winner 2020

The winning space of the inaugural UK Bathroom Design Awards has been crowned, a bold room designed to stand the test of time and passing trends, made up of monochrome tiles, tactile surfaces and, perhaps the year’s biggest bathroom trend, statement black brassware.

The space is one of the first rooms completed in the new home of textile designer Sian O’Doherty in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, which is being built so the family can live alongside to the herd of alpacas that contribute their wool to Sian’s sustainable modern knitwear business. Sian is an award-winning textile artist and designer creating beautiful and unique, ethically produced colourful fashion pieces, homeware and accessories with a modern Welsh twist.

Sian, her husband Mike, and three-and-a-half-year-old Ava have been living in a one room static caravan for two years while they wait for the house to be finished and baby number two to arrive in January. ‘The new bathroom is just amazing – especially after having had such a tiny shower for so long!’ Sian tells us. ‘I wanted it to be simple, timeless and practical, but also to have a designer edge.’

Large format white tiles meet a tactile slate floor and are finished with slick black brassware and accessories. ‘We kept things as simple as possible, with clean lines, and a monochrome palette – I was mindful of creating a space we could live with for a long time’ Sian explains.

The combination of longevity and effortless industrial style is what drew the judges to the space. ‘I love natural materials, and the slate floor is a wonderful contrast to the slick white walls,’ Sian says. ‘I paired it right back because I wanted it to last, but we pushed the boat out with the large shower head to make a modern statement and give it an industrial edge’

While the space looks beautiful, it’s based on the requirements of real life. ‘I chose each element to be as practical and easy to clean as possible,’ Sian explains ‘I kept referring back to what we needed as a family’. Thus, larger tiles mean less grouting, grout is grey for quick maintenance and surfaces are matt to show fewer small finger prints.

‘Pretty much everything came from UK Bathrooms which I hadn’t planned but just made sense – they guided me to good models in the price range I could go for, and because I bought so much, delivery was free,’ says Sian. ‘UK Bathrooms just made life more manageable, such as making sure I had the things that you don’t think about, like water traps and plugs. The bathroom includes luxury brands such as Crosswater and VitrA, and it was so easy getting them from one place.’

‘The bathroom is exactly what I was hoping for; clean lines, open space, and practicality; I take great pleasure in using it and will do for years to come’ says Sian, who won £500 worth of Love2Shop vouchers gifted by VitrA Bathrooms. ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to have won the UK Bathrooms Design Awards, and it’s been a massive help with finishing off our new home.’

We all need colour in our lives… ColourKast from BC Designs

We are excited to now supply beautiful bathroom products from premium brand BC Designs. BC Designs prides itself on quality, innovation and originality. Started in 1999 the company has become a well-respected bathroom design house that offers beautifully crafted products to all areas of the bathroom market. Their bath collections, including the Cian and Acrymite ranges, have been imitated, but never matched.
And now the British bath manufacturer has unveiled ColourKast, a collection of eight decors which will be available across all its Cian baths and basins. The colours span jewel shades, earthy tones and pastel hues. These include Gunmetal, Khaki Green, Mushroom, Powder Blue, Light Fawn, Industrial Grey, Satin Rose and Powder Grey.Cian is a solid surface that is seamless, durable and made from one material throughout. Each bath is floor mounted, but BC Designs is also developing a stand for selected models.
Design director at BC Designs Barrie Cutchie said ‘Colour in bathrooms is a huge trend right now, and we expect it to develop over the coming months. ColourKast will offer retailers and consumers choice with the eight different shades but combined with original and established bath shapes that retailers know sell well. Customers can either match or contrast their basin or each piece is striking enough to stand alone.”

So what are the key benefits of ColourKast that are exciting us here at UK Bathrooms:

*It is a colour throughout material providing all the incredible benefits of solid surfacing
