Guide to configuring your shower space

Creating The Perfect Contemporary Shower Space

If you’re looking to create the perfect shower space then consider Crosswaters 10mm options available from UK Bathrooms.

Crosswater have introduced their Gallery 10 and Optix 10 showering solutions so that you and your family can enjoy the ultimate shower experience. Both ranges are made from the highest quality materials and using toughened 10mm glass.

Configuring your shower room can seem a little daunting, with a wide choice available across both Optix 10 and Gallery 10

This guide will help you to make the right choices so that you end up with the perfect showering space.

Gallery 10 allows you to create a luxury walk-in shower whilst Optix 10 offer a range of shower enclosures. If you have chosen a walk-in shower space then Gallery 10 is the range for you.

Gallery 10 – Walk-in Shower Space

First of all, you need to decide the location for your shower space. This could be a corner or recess space, or it could be on a straight open wall. Measure the space you have chosen and select the correctly sized glass panel to fit. We recommend that you allow a minimum of 500 mm entry space.  The Gallery 10 collection offers glass panels to suit all shapes, sizes and spaces giving you a huge amount of flexibility with your shower design.

Additional Stabilising Fixings

Once you have selected your glass panel you may need to consider the option of stabilising fixings, these will depend on your chosen configuration but may include:

  • Glass to glass seal – this will allow you to join two glass panels together
  • Wall profile – this will support a glass panel up to 500mm without a bracing bar
  • Glass to wall bracing bar – this connects your glass panel to the wall and can support panels up to 1400mm
  • Glass to ceiling bracing bar – this connects your glass panel to the ceiling and can support panels up to 1000mm
  • T bracing bar – this is a ‘T’ shaped bar which will connect two glass panels up to 1000mm to a wall

Optional Deflectors

You can then decide whether you need to reduce splash by adding optional deflectors. Any overspray will be minimised by adding fixed or hinged deflector panels.  A hinged deflector shower panel works on 180-degree hinges, great for shower access. While fixed deflector panels remain in a permanent position.

A Gallery 10 walk in shower configuration will be based on your choice of shower base. Gallery 10 walk ins can be set up with the use of a shower tray or the panels can be installed on a tiled bathroom floor – again allowing you a great deal of design flexibility.

Choice of Colour Finish

The Gallery 10 collection is available in a choice of 4 fabulous finishes – Brushed Brass, Polished Stainless Steel, Matt black or Brushed Stainless Steel – choose one of these to match with your bathroom colour scheme. The Matt Black finish looks stunning in a monochrome design and the Brushed Brass works perfectly with the on-trend green and pale pink hues.

Whichever you choose don’t forget you can complete your look with colour-matching MPRO shower brassware, including shower heads, flexible handsets, shower valves and bathroom accessories.

Optix 10 Shower Enclosures

If you opt for Optix 10 luxury shower enclosures then once you’ve decided on your shower location, you’ll need to measure the space so that you can then work out what is the most suitable enclosure or your contemporary bathroom. Consider who will be using the shower and what kind of shower experience you would like to create.

Choose Shower Door Type

You can then choose one of four door types from Crosswaters Optix 10 collection:

  • A single sliding door
  • A pivot door
  • A single bath screen with inline panel
  • A pivot with inline panel

A single sliding door is great if you need a space saving efficient solution. Whereas the single bath screen is good if you are looking for a combined bath shower function.  If you’ve planned a larger shower space then opt for the pivot door with an inline panel. Pivot doors a re a great choice as they feature watertight magnetic door seals for seamless integration and a hassle-free showering experience.

Shower Tray Or Tiled Floor Installation

An Optix 10 shower enclosure also allows you to either install a shower tray or install directly onto a tiled floor. And you can enjoy further design flexibility in the three colour finishes available Brushed Brass, Brushed Stainless Steel and Polished Stainless Steel.

Creating a luxury contemporary shower space is easier than it’s ever been with Crosswaters Gallery 10 and Optix 10 showering spaces.
