Which bathroom sink to choose?

These days there are so many bathroom sinks to choose from it can often be a complicated process to work out which bathroom sink would suit. There are though certain categories that sinks fit into and the main three are freestanding sinks, recessed sinks or the counter top sink. There is also the choice between quite a traditional sink or a more modern contemporary style.

The freestanding sink is one that includes a pedestal and can be situated in a bathroom with the pipework hidden down the back. This is the standard sink that you see in the majority of homes. You can get a full or a semi pedestal that will allow the sink to be mounted to the wall. A good example of a pedestal sink would be the Imperial Isis which is quite a contemporary style. With most sinks these days you can also choose the number of tap holes that you want and typically you can have one hole for a single mixer tap, or three holes which will accommodate more options.

The recessed sinks are the ones that are fitted into a washstand and are sunken for a sleek finish. It is often useful to house a sink into a countertop that often incorporates cupboards underneath for handy bathroom storage. The recessed sinks differ to the counter top sinks as these ones sit on top of the countertop. You can now get some great counter top sinks and Catalano do a fabulous range of stylish and modern additions to your bathroom.

I prefer a medium sized sink, so that you can wash both hands but not so large that it eats away at the floor space in your bathroom
