Showering and bathing are clearly important for every human being. Not only do we feel better about ourselves when we are fresh out of the shower. For the elderly, mobility can be a problem, making getting in and out of the bath or shower difficult. The walk in shower has proved to be a significant invention to help ease these bathing issues.
Several designs for walk in showers feature a lowered entrance, making access easier as the user doesn’t have to navigate a step to enter the cubicle. The shape of the cubicle can allow it to be designed without a door as curved panels can prevent any showering water escaping the unit. A further measure to improve bathing safety and comfort is the inclusion of a seat, which in some designs can be folded away as and when it is needed. Some walk in shower designs feature a seat next to the entrance, thus allowing the bather to sit down and simply lift their legs into the cubicle.
